Yes. The preparation described in Empatyzer includes questions, tone, possible reactions and first steps, not just ready-made speeches.
Asking for two questions that would test your interpretation can be more useful than asking for a long monologue. This is especially relevant when you have only one side of the story. The aim is to make room for information you do not yet have, while keeping the conversation focused on the issue.
