Communicate on the Same Wavelength

“This manager is very weak.”

A new person join a team – and it’s the boss. They are completely untrustworthy. They have to ask about everything and don’t appear to have a plan.

“After all, they should know everything and lead us along the right path. How can you feel secure with such a leader? These meetings where he invites us to discuss topics that he should decide for himself and then communicate to us in a calm way, speak badly about him. He is unprofessional. He’s not a leader.”

Yes, a leader from an egalitarian culture does not have it easy in hierarchical cultures and vice versa. Making both sides aware of these differences would help a lot. It would also avoid the demise of many promising careers.
