Personality tests are tests that measure traits that have been defined by one personality theory or another. One of the first theories of personality, whose author was Hippocrates, stated that there are four distinct temperaments among people: sanguine, choleric, melancholic, and phlegmatic. The personality test will use questions to measure the severity of these traits. Knowing their severity, we’re able to tell a story about a person’s character. Make a more or less probable hypothesis about what characteristics this person has and how he will behave in different situations.
Since the time of Hippocrates, many different personality theories and related tests have been developed. Contemporary popular personality tests include: Myers-Briggs (MBTI), Winslow Personality Test, 16 Personality Factor Questionnaire, SHL Occupational Personality Questionnaire, HEXACO Personality Inventory-Revised, Eysenck Personality Inventory, DISC and IPIP-NEO, which is the basis of the Empatyzer solution.
