Everyone knows at least one person who regularly surprises with unusual ideas. Ones that could be implemented only under certain circumstances, and hardly anyone takes them seriously. For some, contributing left field ideas is a great source of inspiration; for others, it’s a nuisance that doesn’t lead to any specific action. Everyone may perceive it differently and it would be good to know at what point this method of brainstorming can become a source of conflict.
Information for both parties about the risks in communication will help to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings and tensions. Above all, however, they will make it easier to understand the other side and the fact that teams are diverse is the truly irreplaceable value.
